Birth the Dove in Us

Psalms 68:13 "Though you lie down among the sheepfolds, You will be like the wings of a DOVE covered with silver, And her feathers with yellow gold."

This is the season of the dove. As we enter the Christmas season you may put a dove on your tree. If so, think of this scripture and know we are in God's time to birth the dove of His own Spirit in our lives. The dove is symbolic of the nature of the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit is honored and obeyed in our lives we take on more and more of His nature, His mission and His anointing. It is the season of the dove, for God will birth the dove of His Spirit in many lives who are hungry and thirsty, seeking and doing His will. First of all the dove birthed in us will bring us into "purity" of flesh and spirit for without holiness no man will see God.

There can be no mixture of clean and unclean, worldly compromise, or tolerance of sin.
As God has said, He has given us these precious promises: Read 2 Corinthians 6:16-7:1
"I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people."

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Iniquities like pride, fear, jealousy, gossip, judgment, anger have no right to find a place in the lives of a believer, for if they are allowed unchecked they will defile your spirit and your love will grow cold. But as we choose to live in this fear of being separated from the Lord, we will cleanse ourselves of all that does not glorify Him in the flesh and spirit perfecting His holiness. Then the dove of peace and purity will rule our lives as we overcome in the righteousness of Christ. Peace can then rule our minds, our hearts and in every issues of our lives because we surrender it all to Him. God promises He will be God for us, so who can stand against us; He will be God with us in all things never to forsake us; He will will be God in us, to dwell as Father to us with the glory of His presence. Wow!

The dove has no peripheral vision. It is single focused on what is most important before him. Holy Spirit ruling in us will create a single focus on the eternal values of life through the eyes of the Lord Jesus. The Holy Spirit only has eyes for you as He longs to bring you to the image of the Lord Jesus Christ. If we will choose to have a single focus it will create a single mind that can know His will. It will create a single heart fixed on the eternal prize of knowing the Lord Jesus and letting Him live through your life. Nothing else this world has to offer can compare to knowing the King, the creator of all that exists.

The dove is faithful, loyal and a possessive lover of its mate for life. It mourns over any separation. The Holy Spirit is our loyal companion for life eternal. He is the lover of our soul and grieves over any separation caused by our own way. As we submit in all our ways, surrendered unto obedience the Holy Spirit fills us with the love of the Father God. God's love will be known by others and seen as we love one other and love our enemies.

There are many more things to compare with the Dove and the Holy Spirit in us, but let's focus on the scripture that has inspired this word. The Lord compares us to sheep who must be guided and cared for at all times. Sheep must have a Shepard. As the preceding scripture reads; though we lie down in the green pastures of the sheepfold, we are destined to become doves in the Holy Spirit. It seems to be another paradox of the Kingdom of God as the way in is out, the way up is down, the way to receive is to give and so on. We are destined to mount up with silver wings because we have allowed the process of refining fires to purify the power of our flight in the Spirit realm. Silver is symbolic of the judgment of refining fire that purifies us. God let our spirits be purified from all uncleanness that the works of our lives in the Spirit are as the doves with silver wings pure and brightly shining with His glory.

Listen to Malachi 3:2-3 –
But who can endure the day of His coming?
And who can stand when He appears?
For He is like a refiner's fire
And like launderers' soap.
He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver;
He will purify the sons of Levi,
And purge them as gold and silver,
That they may offer to the LORD
An offering in righteousness.

We are destined to be like the dove whose feathers are gold for we are destined to be clothed with the divine nature of the Lord Jesus Christ. When our faith is tried in the fires of life's tribulations, we have the chance to root deep into Him and become like Him. Speaking in the context of the preceding scripture "Our feathers begin to look gold to the Father and the Dove is being birthed in us."

Listen to I Peter 1:7, "that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ."

Father God today as we look at this word make it a living word within us. Create in us the "Dove of Your Spirit." Create in us the nature of Your very own Spirit, the mission of Your Spirit as we surrender to live and move and have our very being in Him. Create in us the anointing , the presence, and the power of your Holy Spirit. Birth the Dove in us as we hunger and thirst to know You. We surrender and pray In the mighty name of the Strong Son of God, Jesus Christ.
