The Word of the Lord comes saying, "today there are many in my church who are stuck in the River." "Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty" (there is freedom) 2 Corinthians 3:17. The Lord wants to loose your feet from the muddy swamp and set you free to move with the river of His Spirit again.
Some of you know the influence and power of “the river of God’s Spirit” but you have turned aside to a little outlet where there is more control and you can feel your feet on the ground; it is a more familiar place. This could be traditions you cling to when God has moved on to fresher waters, or it could be religious concepts that you hold tight to like a dead trunk of an old tree along the side of the river. However there in that place you have lost your flow in the River. Your feet are stuck in the marshes and the swamps. God wants to set you free now and set you back in His mighty flow. You need to cry out to God for eyes to see where you have turned aside and let go and let God take you once again to the middle of the river where you are free of your own control and all other religious controls. Only the Holy Spirit is worthy and only He can take you to the place you are destined to go to find your Kingdom inheritance on this earth.
From Psalms 48:4 we read, "There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God." This is the river that runs from the throne room of God in heaven. It is a spiritual river. Rivers are made up of many springs. From Psalm 87:7 we read "All my springs are in you." Jesus said in John 7:38 "He who believes in me, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." Everywhere this river goes there is life. As this river from the dwelling place in heaven touches the river within the throne of our heart then God is meeting and moving with us and giving forth His life. We are connecting Sprit to spirit. When the river runs through the heart and life of a believer then the injustices of life are turned to justices; the works of the devil are destroyed and the glory of the Kingdom of God happens. This river is the moving and the working of the person of the Holy Spirit. The river is not the Holy Spirit, but it is the His flow on the earth as He proceeds from the Father to witness and work the greatness of God’s redemption in Christ.
In Ezekiel 48:1-12 we read about this river that cannot be crossed for the water was too deep. The water is to flow to the nations, and everywhere the river goes there is life. There will be great multitudes of fish, (many nations of people) because these waters go there; for they will be healed; and everything will live wherever the river goes. But the swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be given over to salt. In other words they become hardened and miss their whole purpose in this life.
If we hold on to our own ideas, our traditions, our abilities, our safe familiar places of religious form then we are in danger of becoming hard like salt in the swaps and marshes. That is not the desire of those who know the flow of this mighty river, so today let God open your eyes and show you the truth, and set you free again. God is a God who never changes in who He is but He is constantly changing in what He does and where He goes. He is always moving.
Surrender once again to be carried by this river where He holds the course of your life and everywhere you go there will be His life-giving source in you and through you. Surrender to be submerged down under His river, where the breath of God keeps you and you find a whole other world and learn how to live and move and have your very being in the mighty Spirit of God.
If you are feeling that God may be speaking to you through this word will you just pray with me now? Father, I am coming again to you to let go and let you have control of my life and ministry completely. I do not want to fight against your river. Show me what it is I cling to that is hindering me from your flow. Set me free to find greater measures of moving with the Holy Spirit than I have ever known. Father do not let me limit you, or deceive myself and miss your glory being released in this hour of great need all over the world. In Jesus mighty name…above all else…amen!
