We find a fantastic picture in the Old Testament of God's plan for us as He makes us His temple. The ark of the covenant was made of rugged wood, but then it was overlaid in gold which is symbolic of the divine nature. God desires to take our rough humanity and overlay it with His divine nature until His Spirit fills us completely.
